About Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania's most photogenic parks — a narrow strip of groundwater forest, open woodland, and alkaline lake squeezed between the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the shimmering pink-tinged waters of Lake Manyara. Famous for its tree-climbing lions, dense elephant population in the forest, and up to 75,000 flamingos on the lake, it punches far above its weight for a park of only 325 square kilometres.
